Mindspeed's Communications Convergence Processing (CCP) business unit offers a broad range of products for customer premises equipment (CPE) used to deliver converged broadband access services including VPN/WAN routing with QoS and best-in-class, low-latency VoIP and video support.
Mindspeed was first to market with energy-efficient, dual-core ARM-based system-on-chip (SoC) solutions that reduce the costs of building residential, small office/home office (SOHO) and small-to-midsize business (SMB) residential-gateway and “office-in-a-box” platforms. Our Comcerto® packet processors and proven, carrier-class software deliver the best voice quality and price/power-to-performance ratios on the market, and are optimized for CPE platforms including Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) routers, voice appliances, high-performance SMB security solutions, and 802.11n and WiMAX enterprise access points. Our CPE solutions are found in OSGI-enabled devices being deployed by some of the world’s leading carriers.
Mindspeed's High-Performance Analog (HPA) business unit also contributes a portfolio of optical-networking products for CPE equipment used for delivering “last mile” fiber-optic access to the home, building and beyond. As video, gaming and content-rich applications drive the need for faster broadband access, our ultra-low-power Gigabit Passive Optical Networking (GPON) and Gigabit Ethernet PON (GEPON) products are enabling the next generation of optical networking units (ONUs) and optical networking terminals (ONTs) for FTTH and Fiber-to-the-Building (FTTB) service delivery.
Mindspeed's HPA offering spans key physical media device (PMD) building blocks including pre- and post-amplifiers, as well as laser drivers that use proven dual closed-loop Eye-Minder™ technology for real-time laser monitoring and compensation to reduce production testing requirements and lower overall ONT/ONU system costs.
