6.5 Gbps 160x160 Crosspoint Switch with Signal Conditioning


Overview

Description

The M21165 is a 160x160 asynchronous fully non-blocking crosspoint switch operating at data rates up to 6.5 Gbps. The M21165 can be configured either to switch channels as individual lanes (lane mode) or in groups of four (group mode). The devices include advanced signal conditioning capabilities that enable the transmission of 6.5 Gbps NRZ data over PCB channels that exceed one meter in length. Signal conditioning circuits counter frequency dependent impairments in the channel. Specific device capabilities include individual, per-lane input equalization and output de-emphasis. Configuration of the device is done through a set of register writes using one of the integrated 2-wire serial (I2C compatible), 4-wire serial, or parallel digital interfaces.
