Mindspeed’s Communications Convergence Processing (CCP) business unit leverages core competencies in highly integrated multi-core processing SoCs, carrier-class software and low-latency voice subsystems to offer the industry’s broadest range of scalable FTTx solutions for applications from the core to the home. Our Comcerto® processors for FTTB applications run the same software as its core media gateway solutions with the most complete feature set optimized specifically for this market, and its Comcerto FTTH processors deliver best-in-class CPE capabilities with the industry’s leading price/power-to-performance ratio supported by proven, carrier-class software and the highest voice quality available.
Mindspeed’s High Performance Analog (HPA) business unit also serves this market with a broad family of physical media devices (PMDs) that reduce the cost of GPON and GEPON optical networking equipment used to deploy FTTx multi-play services over fiber-access networks. Our fiber-optic portfolio spans the entire spectrum of OC-3 to OC-192 optical networking speeds, in support of Synchronous Optical Network (SONET), Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) and Gigabit Ethernet/Fibre Channel digital data transmission standards. Mindspeed’s GPON and GEPON products include pre- and post-amplifiers, as well as laser drivers that use our proven dual closed-loop Eye-Minder ™ technology for real-time laser monitoring and compensation to reduce production testing requirements and lower overall ONT/ONU system costs.
